Panacea Mainnet Upgrade: Version 2.2.0 Now Live!

Hello, this is the MediBloc team. We are pleased to announce that the MediBloc Panacea mainnet version v2.2.0 upgrade, which took place from March 21, 2024, has been successfully completed. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and patiently awaited the mainnet upgrade. The panacea-core version upgrade includes significant changes as outlined below:

► panacea-core version upgrade

The panacea-core version will be upgraded from v2.0.7-2 to v2.2.0, incorporating the following changes.

1. cosmos-sdk Version Upgrade

One of the pivotal aspects of this upgrade is the advancement of the Cosmos-SDK version. Here’s a summary of the key changes:

  • Cosmos-SDK: From v0.45.12 to v0.47.10
  • CometBFT (formerly Tendermint): From v0.34.24 to v0.37.4
  • IBC: From v4.3.0 to v7.3.2

This upgrade introduces several new features and improvements.

  • New Module Additions: The x/nft module facilitates Non-Fungible Token (NFT) management, whereas the x/group module empowers users to create DAOs, multisignatures, and policies.
  • Consensus Engine Change: Transition from Tendermint to CometBFT as the consensus engine, offering enhanced consensus algorithm implementations.
  • Transaction Mode Changes: The removal of the block mode in Broadcast necessitates users to utilize sync and async modes, with sync mode performing basic validation and returning the transaction hash without confirming inclusion in a block, and async mode immediately returning the transaction hash without validation.
  • Key Management Changes: Default -keyring-backend option for keys generated using panacead keys add is set to os, storing key information in the OS’s keychain repository. Access to previously declared keys requires the use of the -keyring-backend test option.

Additionally, to facilitate integration with Osmosis, the ibc-go module has been upgraded to a new version due to the expiration of its maintenance period. The version being upgraded to (v7.3.2) is scheduled to be supported until September 2024, and preparations for the next upgrade should be made before that time. 2. NFT Implementation

Building upon the foundation provided by the x/nft module in the cosmos-sdk, we’ve developed the x/pnft module, introducing Panacea Non-Fungible Tokens (PNFTs). PNFTs represent a significant addition to the Panacea ecosystem, opening up new possibilities for tokenization and asset representation.

► panacea-js & panacea-java SDK Upgrades

In line with the latest upgrade of panacea-core, the SDKs for developers utilizing the Panacea blockchain, panacea-js and panacea-java, have also been updated. This upgrade brings about the following key changes:

1. Enhancements from cosmos-sdk Upgrade

The SDKs have been updated to incorporate the new features and improvements introduced in the upgraded cosmos-sdk version.

2. PNFT Feature Implementation

The latest SDK upgrades bring support for the newly introduced PNFT functionality in Panacea-Core, empowering developers to leverage PNFTs in their applications seamlessly.

With these upgrades, we aim to provide developers with the tools and capabilities needed to unlock the full potential of the Panacea blockchain. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue to evolve and innovate in the world of decentralized technologies.
