DID and Credential verification

Producers of health data can issue signed credentials using a decentralized identifier (DID) to patients, enabling them to share their data with other data consumers. Additionally, anyone can check the authentication data by referring to the DID document on Panacea.

Reinforcing the health service ecosystem

Patients and all participants in the MediBloc health data ecosystem, including medical professionals, medical institutions, research institutes, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies, will have opportunities to earn rewards based on their contributions. Additionally, health service providers can use Panacea and an incentive model based on MED coins to effectively expand their service ecosystems.

Providing security and reliability

Health data is NOT recorded directly on the blockchain because it is sensitive and personal. In addition, the blockchain is a public ledger that anyone can access, so direct recording may cause data leaks. Therefore, the data is stored and managed only at the user’s endpoint. Furthermore, the data is encrypted and transmitted to a separate channel to ensure high data security during the data sharing process. Additionally, the Panacea-based DID is used to guarantee data reliability.

Ecosystem

MediBloc is a patient-centered health data platform developed based on the blockchain Panacea and designed to connect fragmented health data.

Medical professionals or medical institutions record the various health data generated during treatment processes into EHRs and provide them upon patients’ requests. Patients can use PHRs to collect and manage the lifelog data they create or the data provided by medical institutions. They can transfer the data to medical professionals or medical institutions as needed.

This data distribution method is based on an identity verification system that uses Panacea’s DID and data authentication. The MED can be used to incentivize all participants to contribute to the ecosystem. Thus, patients can exert sovereignty over their health data and secure their right to control its use.

Medipass is a PHR solution that allows patients to manage the personal health data that medical institutions have recorded.

MediBloc coin (MED) is a cryptocurrency that can create an economic ecosystem and induce participation in the platform.

Participants who contribute to the MediBloc platform ecosystem receive contribution-dependent incentives in MED. In addition to health consumers (patients), healthcare providers who contribute to the production and distribution of health data are entitled to a fair share of the incentives. In the future, MED could be used as a payment method for various types of healthcare expenses that use blockchain.
